  • Moving~

I'm moving again...xanga doesn't seem to like me very much. It takes ages to load my xanga home page. So I've decided to go back to blogger. But not to the previous address. I've gotten a nicer sounding one. Diane's Diaries. Sounds a little like princess diaries but nicer, right? Hehe. =P See you there.

  • Finally in~

Wow...I'm finally able to get into Xanga after like sooo long. Was thinking of opening a new blog elsewhere already. =P And I got in with my Mac! Dell wouldn't let me get in. Hmm...weird... Nyways, here are some updates on what I've been up to these past few days.

Firstly, I haven't even had the chance to declare to the world that I'm finally free of exams for this semester! Woo-hooooo~~~ I know I'm really late but still...Yeay! =D I came home on Friday evening straight after my last paper, abandoning my Roommate who still had one more paper the next Tuesday. (felt a wee bit guilty but hey, she had already gone down to Ipoh to celebrate the end of her second last paper!). And...I've been able to sleep like a pig in my own comfy bed at home! =)

My twin sister, Elvina and her friend Jack came visiting on Tuesday and stayed til Friday. We had fun times, most of them spent hunting for nice food in Penang. The first stop was at Pulau Tikus' best Char Koey Teow stall opposite the police station. Elvina and Jack's eyes lit up the moment they tasted the koey teow and they finished their food before I was even halfway done! We crossed the road to get some Indian Mee at Bangkok Lane. They liked it loads too. =) We had more food during their stay here...Daddy and Mummy's wonderful cooking, fish bihun, hokkien mee, my favourite banana pancake, o chien, Frankie's Pizza, otak otak, hokkien char, dim sum, beef noodles, giant spring roll, barbequed chicken, teppan yaki, etc. I was practically scared of food by the second day of their visit! But it was real fun having them around. =) My mum's car broke down on Thursday afternoon when I was driving them to the bus terminal to get their tickets for Friday. And of all the places, it broke down right in the middle of the road! I called my Dad and he immediately came to our rescue. ***Cheers for Daddy, Woohoooo~~~*** I'll definitely miss Elvina. We won't be celebrating our birthdays together anymore..unless by some chance we happen to be together on our special days. =)

I spent the whole of yesterday working on my old Dell computer, keeping the last few folders I would need and reformatting it with the help of Kana who gave me some simple instructions on formatting a computer and Chris helped me with some of the steps over the phone. =) And the computer's all clean and fast now! Hehe. I can reformat a computer wor~ *happy happy* Btw, just for some of the readers' information, e&e engineers don't reformat or repair computers! We're not computer technicians~ =P

So that's all for the short update on my doings these past few days. I'll upload the pics later. Cya~ =)

  • Beware..frustrated and sleepy..not a good combination..

If you don't mind reading about me rant, go ahead. Else, just don't read 'cos i'm awfully mad. I loath smokers...especially if they puff their smoke on the stairs right next to my room. And...how many times do they need to smoke in a day??? It's 430am for goodness' sake! I'm allergic to smoke and it's no wonder I can't sleep! The "little pleasure" they had outside my room window gave me a mini asthma attack, taking away my sleep... =( They were gone by the time I dragged myself out of my bed to give them an earful of what I thought of smokers. I've got the IET meeting to attend at 9am and church later on...and i'm in the worship team~~~ How la am i gonna wake up???

Oh-kay...it's not only the smokers...the mosquitoes don't want me to sleep too~ They're getting cleverer by the day. Hiding under my blanket and biting me at the most sensitive spots..my ankle and the soles of my feet. Hmph! One's dead on the wall next to me with a big splat of blood...the others are gonna face their doom pretty soon if they don't scat!

The sky's gettin' brighter and the birds are up already. I'll go try grab some sleep before the meeting. Hope I won't look horrible for my last church service in this semester tomorrow~

  • I'm Online!!!

Yes! You might say, "What's the big deal?" But indeed it is a big deal! I haven't been able to go online for one whole week!!! Lousy internet connection! They better do something before I write a letter to the rector! Been studying and studying....and studying for my finals. Tomorrow will be my second paper. Hopefully I'll be able to wake up early. Been training myself to wake up at 7am the past few days and have only succeeded today. =P

Tang yuan festival is coming up in December, and since we won't be in UTP to celebrate it together, Roommate and I decided to bring it forward! We did it after our first paper, Malaysian Studies (I kept thinking bout the tang yuan throughout the exam). Roommate got the ingredience from Tronoh and we started to cook the soup (red bean soup) and make the tang yuan. We started off wrong by pouring wee too much water and the dough was all sticky. But we were able to remedy that by adding more flour and so everything turned out well. =) I think the tang yuan tasted yummy! But I only had like three tang yuan's 'cos i liked the soup much better. =P Finished all of the soup and we cooked green bean soup the next day. Hehe.

I think I really live in a jungle! There was a "kokoke", cockerel in a tree just outside of my window yesterday! We were wondering where that "chicken noise" came from when Roommate spotted its head in between the leaves. I rushed out to snap a picture of it but it flew off. Must have been afraid that I would cook it with my "pao som". Haha.

Okie I've really got to get back to my studying. Micro Controller tomorrow. Hope my lecturer didn't plan out the paper to kill all of us. =P

p.s. Hope the post hasn't ended up being too confusing. I just had to grab this opportunity just in case I wouldn't be able to go online again soon. Hehe. Chaos~

  • Our walk in the park

We went to the park for some batch photo shoots last Saturday. I missed the first photo shoot session and was determined not to miss this one eventhough I had to be late 'cos of a dance practice. We arrived as they were taking a picture at one of the bridges and quickly joined in with my stawberry umbrella.

And my strawberry umbrella became the centre of attraction for a while!

We went on to the other bridge to feed the fishies...

Nice picture, eh? Oh and you must see the fishes here! They're super duper hungry fishes. They literally climb and jump over each other for a small piece of bread. Look at 'em! My friends kept asking if they were edible...truly Chinese!!!

Later on, we realised there was a rainbow in the sky and grabbed the opportunity to take a picture with it. And of course, Stawberry was in too!

As a finale of the trip, we decided to do the all-time-favourite jumping shots. Here are some of Suet Yeng and I jumping off a bench.

    Wheee~~~~~
